Flight Training

Wings Air conducts student training in the Schweizer 300C for several very important reasons:

  • Safety, control, and comfort  Schweizer aircraft offer several features that Robinson helicopters do not.

    • Shock-mounted landing gear absorbs the impact from hard training landings.

    • Full dual controls similar to larger helicopters.  No "T-bar" here.

    • Fully articulated main rotor creates a more responsive control feeling.

    • Adjustable pedals accommodate students of all heights.

    • Larger cabin size makes your training more comfortable.

  • Versatility  The Schweizer has an excellent reputation throughout the industry.  Operators worldwide use the Schweizer for training, electronic news gathering (ENG), law enforcement, agricultural operations, line patrol, external load applications, and more.
  • No additional training requirement  The FAA requires pilots to log additional training before they can fly a Robinson helicopter.  Not so in a Schweizer.  You can view the FAA regulations regarding training and Robinson helicopters at the following link: SFAR 73
  • Power and Performance  Compare the following specifications with an R-22 Beta
Schweizer 300C Robinson R-22 Beta
Max power 190 horsepower 131 horsepower
Useful load 950 pounds 515 pounds
Fuel capacity 64 gallons 29.7 gallons
